Tani Dabrera

Team Leader - Melbourne East

My career began in the Newspaper industry with Leader Newspaper. I spent 23 years in the industry where I learned about the importance of processes, deadlines, and being part of a team, which enabled me to work efficiently and effectively during my career there. Leaving the newspaper industry created new opportunities for me in Aged Care and Disability. Working in Aged Care taught me about the importance of empathy, dignity, respect, and being there as a support for residents and families. Working with residents and listening to their stories helped me to build a small snippet of their world. This is important to me and the person who I assist to feel more comfortable with my care.

Wanting to continue this journey I completed my Cert IV in Disability and became a Support Worker working with young people in programs that centered around Skill Building, Life Skills, Vocational Opportunities, Community Awareness, and Independence. Working as the Program Coordinator, I assisted people to navigate the NDIS. I then embarked on my role as a NDIS Support Coordinator which opened doors for people to access Services in Allied Health, Social and Community, Learning Life Skills, Accommodation, and Building Capacity to lead an extraordinary life. The NDIS is constantly changing and evolving and can cause stress and anxiety to people. My job is to alleviate this stress, build knowledge, understanding and be there to support people to navigate through this process and fulfill their potential.

Working for a well-established service opened opportunities to build on my Support Coordination experience and work collaboratively with other Support Coordinators. Future Focus has built a team of highly experienced staff from all sectors of the Health Industry.

Lead your life your way.
